Outspoken Kenyan rapper Brian Ouko Omollo, popularly known in the entertainment scene as Khaligraph Jones has released a cipher dubbed Khali Cartel 4 featuring the top six finalists of Odinare Rap Challenge.

A cipher is a way of delivering a message to an audience in a hidden formulation. It is a form of secret writing. In Khali Cartel 4, the video setup was shot on a bank robbery that sees rapper Khaligraph questioning various rappers as they articulate problems in the music industry while rhyming to its stately beats.

Speaking to the press after the release of the cipher, Khaligraph stated that the song was a gift to his fans for their loyal support since the start of his music career.

“I decided to release Khali Cartel 4 this year in a bid to give back to my fans who have been with me through thick and thin, after bringing the Odinare challenge to the rap scene courtesy of Odibets. I released Khali Cartel 4 with the six rap challenge finalists who had proved beyond all reasonable doubt that they were the next stars in the hip hop scene,” said the award-winning rapper.

This comes months after Khalighraph’s Blue Inc Studios partnered with Odibets, a betting firm, to launch Odimtaani Initiative which entailed the Odinare Rap Challenge where the rappers; Katapilla, Shekina Karen, Murasta, Achicho, Elisha Elai, and Ben-C who are included in the cipher were sourced.

The top three winners of Odinare Rap Challenged were rewarded as follows; Kibera-born rapper Katapilla emerged the winner and walked away with a grand prize ok Ksh1 million, Ben C and Elai came second and third and walked away with Ksh500,000 and Ksh300,000 respectively.
