American rapper Cameron Jibril Thomaz, who is popularly known as Wiz Khalifa, has confirmed having tested positive for Covid-19. In a tweet on Wednesday, 14th July, the See You Again hitmaker requested people to stay away from him as he revealed that he had experienced no coronavirus symptoms.

Khalifa’s tweet read: “Okay loved ones….sooo….Ya boy got Covid. No symptoms. Just away from me for a lil while.”

Wiz is the latest worldwide celebrity to have contracted the deadly virus. He, however, disclosed his plans to keep himself preoccupied with giving his fans ‘new content’ during his quarantine.

“While I’m in the house I’ll be giving y’all new content, planning raves, and readying this new project,” he wrote.

It’s, however, not clear if the 33-year-old award-winning artiste had been vaccinated against the virus.

His infection comes after Los Angeles County’s Public Health Officer, Dr Muntu Davis, issued a mandatory directive for netizens to wear masks indoors. Dr Muntu, who spoke during a press conference on Thursday, 15th July, added that it was because of the rise in Covid-19 cases and, therefore, the rule applied to those who had been vaccinated.

In the US, recent findings, according to government data analysed by the Associated Press, show that a majority of Covid-19-related deaths are mainly among those who haven’t been vaccinated.
