Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior is optimistic that they will win the Spanish league title to make their fans happy this season as the world struggles with the Covid-19 pandemic.
Speaking to Marca, the 19-year-old Brazilian said that Real Madrid is better than Barca “in all aspects”.
He maintained that his team currently has good results and must immediately resume their best performance again.
“I think we were better than them in more aspects. We’ve had very good games until now and we have to recover our best form.
“We’re really hungry to come back, to win. We want to win this league title for our fans. People have suffered a lot and we want to give Real Madrid fans something to cheer about in this situation.
“We know that winning the league isn’t going to be a solution to big tragedies, but it would be something to smile about, something to be happy about.”
Before the suspension of La Liga in March, Madrid were two points behind defending champions and bitter rivals Barcelona after 27 league matches.
The Spanish league is expected to resume next month after a two-month suspension due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
