There is sadness and shock at the news that veteran journalist Catherine Kasavuli has died.
Her demise was confirmed by KBC acting managing director Samuel Maina.
Kasavuli succumbs at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) private wing after weeks of battling cervical cancer.
The legendary news anchor has been at the facility since she was diagnosed with the monster.
Her illness was revealed to the public when the media personality appealed for blood and medical funds.
Barely a week ago, Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Wafula visited Kasavuli in hospital.
From the photos the Minister shared, it became clear the disease had taken a toll on her.
Kasavuli began her broadcasting career in the early 90s at KBC before switching to KTN where her star shone even brighter.
She was later poached by Citizen TV before retiring in 2015.
However, in 2021 she made a comeback at KBC alongside several other veterans where she worked until her death.
May her soul rest in peace.
