Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has been handed Mzee Daniel Moi’s symbolic ‘rungu’.
The rungu was initially handed to his elder brother, Raymond Moi, the Rongai MP, but he passed it on to Gideon.
The Baringo Senator now officially takes over the mantle of political leadership from his late father and Kenya’s second President Daniel Moi.
The former President’s last born son was installed after the burial ceremony of their late father.
Raymond said he would continue to be in charge of the family as Gideon takes charge of political leadership.
According to him, Gideon is best suited for the position.
Gideon is the current leader of the independence party, Kanu.
