Shock as Famous Kikuyu Comedian And Cartoonist Dies a Month After Burying Mum

There is sadness and shock at the news that famous Kikuyu comedian and cartoonist Mwalimu Stano is dead.

The comedic creative passed away this morning. The cause of death was not immediately clear.

Mwalimu Stano become a household in the Kikuyu Nation over eight years ago after his impressive work won a segment on KBC’s Coro FM. The segment is called “Thigithigi Cia Mwalimu Stano”.

Essentially, he created two characters: one (a female) whose voice was distorted and another (could be male or female) speaking normally. He would pit the first character against the second one in hilarious conversations.

As he grew in the entertainment industry, Mwalimu Stano started producing the same content in cartoon form and uploading it on his social media platforms. He boasted of a massive following on YouTube and Facebook.

He has been mourned as one of the most creative and dynamic entertainer of our time.

Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Njogu wa Njoroge said he received the news of his passing with shock as two had discussed areas on collaboration.

“Mwalimu Stano…You had big plans.You wanted us to work together. I knew your strengths..But now you are gone. Rest in peace,” he said.

Just a month ago, the funnyman lost his dear mother and now even the family processes her demise, Mwalimu Stano is no more.
