Sonko Responds To ‘Nairobian’ Story on Impregnating UoN Student Leader

Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has responded to a story by the Nairobian newspaper that alleged that he was in the company of University of Narobi student leader Ann Mvurya, when he was arrested in Voi on Friday, 6th December.

The paper reported that the county boss and Mvurya were taken Voi Railway Police Station before the governor was flown to Nairobi.

An officer quoted by the newspaper claimed that she appeared pregnant.

“I don’t know her name, but she was shy and appeared pregnant,” the officer said.

LitKenya contacted Nairobi County Communication Director Jacob Elkana, seeking to reach the governor for a comment.

Elkana termed the story as a fiction.

“Those are pure just but pure lies. The viral video we all have shows clearly the governor was alone. Writers must verify facts before misleading the public,” Elkana said.

The Nairobian had also claimed that Mvurya had her face covered throughout the drama.

They further reported that story was blocked several times times by a man they identified as Jared.

Allegedly, Jared was speaking on behalf of Mvurya.

“I’m her lawyer and I have dealings with Nairobi County Government and if you publish this, we will pursue you on a personal level,” the publication wrote.

Mvurya is yet to make a public statement.
