Embakasi East MP has advised musician Otile Brown to stick to his music career, warning him that politics will only make him suffer.
The controversial legislator cautioned that the young musician could end up losing his voice, which is his most essential asset.
Sharing a poster of Otile, whose real name is Jacob Obunga, in which he has announced his interest in the Embakasi East in the 2022 elections, Babu Owino dismissed him as a joker.
“Can this joker stick to singing? Politics will make you lose your voice and yet women need your nice voice.”
He derogatively referred to Otile as a slay queen, who would not make it in politics.
“Slay queens can’t make it in the world of politics,” Owino wrote on his Instagram.
Some people said Babu Owino felt threatened by the musician.
Some advised the youthful MP to just ignore Otile.
One fan said commenting on such was marketing those he was targeting.
Ivykj2019: “Babu, you don’t know these Kenyan celebrities try to remain relevant through such stunts? You are too big for such.”
Comedian Dr Ofweneke, whose real name is Sande Bush, said the Embakasi East MP seat was attracting light-skinned leaders.
“It’s a light-skin affair!,” he jokingly remarked.
Holy Dave Muthengi, a hip-hop gospel music artiste, felt that Owino should allow Otile to try his luck.
“My brother kubali (accept) competition,” he said.
iam rishard: Wewe, achana na Otile (Leave Otile alone) . This is going to be an interesting 🧐 one. No bullying boss!
