Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) side Sofapaka have parted ways with their head coach Ken Odhiambo following a poor run of results.
In a statement on Wednesday morning, 30th March Batoto Ba Mungu announced that Odhiambo’s assistant David Ouma will be in charge for the rest of the season on interim basis.
The club thanked Odhiambo for his contribution to the team and wished him well in his future endeavours.
“Sofapaka FC would like to announce that we have parted ways with the Head Coach Mr Ken Odhiambo on mutual consent. Mr David Ouma has been elevated to the position of the Head Coach with immediate effect,” read part of Sofapaka’s statement.
“The club would like to thank Coach Ken Odhiambo for his time with Sofapaka Fc and wishes him all the best in his future endeavours. In the interim, the club will continue the fight to end the season in the top five of the league.”
The club further noted that its president will make more announcements about the issue in due course.
Odhiambo joined Batoto Ba Mungu from Bandari FC in January last year to replace club legend John Baraza. He went on to guide the team to a 12th place finish last season.
In the current campaign, Sofapaka have only won six games after playing 23, drawing nine and losing seven a performance that has left them in position 13 with 27 points.
