This day will remain probably the best for Lucy Njagwi Njoki, a Form One student at Loreto High School Limuru.

The girl scored an impressive 404 marks in the 2021 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination.

She was interviewed by Kiambu Magazine and expressed her desire to meet her role model, Chief Justice, Martha Koome.

“In my future career, my role model is Chief Justice Koome. She has worked hard and risen to become the president of the Judiciary. That is something I admire,” she said.

Well, the message reached the head of the Judiciary.

“Visiting Loreto High School Limuru this afternoon to make Njoki’s wish come true. See you there!” Koome wrote on her Twitter handle earlier today.

She then visited the national school and had a wonderful time with the former pupil of Kiambu Hillcrest School.

On top of that, she made a promise to Lucy.

“Emotional moment as I finally got to fulfil Lucy Njoki’s wish of meeting me. Njoki, who was the top performer in Kiambaa, has joined Loreto High School Limuru, and I’ve offered to pay her fees up to university,” she said.

The president of the Supreme Court also gave Lucy a tight hug and you could tell the student was taken aback.

Koome made history last year when the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) recommended her for the position of Chief Justice and sent her name to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

She was vetted by Parliament before the Head of State confirmed her appointment, becoming the first woman to lead the third arm of the government in Kenya’s history.

As Oscar Award-winner Lupita Nyong’o said: “No matter where you are from, your dreams are valid”.

All the best to Lucy in her academic endeavours.
