Former American First Lady Michelle Obama has warmed many hearts by declaring she owes all that she is today to her mother. And the mother of two has penned down a sweet lengthy message to her mum, who was celebrating her birthday.
She added that she was grateful for having learnt how to use her voice and unapologetically show up when called upon.
Former President Barack Obama’s wife wrote: “Happy birthday to the woman who taught me to think for myself, use my voice, and show up authentically in this world. Your belief that I mattered even when I was just a little girl led me to where I am today. Thank you for being the ultimate role model. Love you, mom.”
Nairobi pastor Lucy Natasha was among those who praised Michelle’s mother for bringing up the most phenomenal woman.
Revlucynatasha: “Happy birthday to a great woman that raised a global icon.”
Harvey_dubs: “Happy birthday! She raised the most incredible woman.”
Ermelindesakahjing: “Happy birthday to your momma. She brought up a strong and brave woman. #Firstlady.”
In March, former US President Obama praised his wife as a strong and independent person, who still challenges and helps him to be a better version of himself.
