Three people perished in a road accident involving two motorcyclists and a car today, 17th October, near Eldoret Town. The accident occurred in Kibulgeny area of Uasin Gishu County.

Eyewitnesses said that the driver of a Toyota Probox minivan, veered off the road, smashing into the two motorbikes.

The motor vehicle was heading towards Soy, while the motorcyclists were going to Eldoret Town.

According to Eldoret West OCPD Eliud Maiyo, one of the riders and two passengers died on the spot. Two of the three victims were family members.

The eyewitnesses said that the Probox driver, who was allegedly speeding, lost control, went off the road and hit the motorbikes.

One of the victims was taken to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in critical condition.

Local residents are now demanding that speed bumps be erected on the road to save lives.
