Discord in Nasa
ODM leader Raila Odinga‘s comment last Saturday that he won’t endorse any of his co-principals in the National Super Alliance (Nasa) has caused havoc in the opposition outfit.
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi ganged up against the former Prime, describing him as a “political con man”.
Kalonzo said he did not want anyone’s endorsement, adding that Raila should not provoke him further because he has damaging secrets against the AU Envoy on Infrastructure and Development.
He added that he didn’t turn up for Raila’s mock swearing-in in January 2018 because it was “illegal”.
BBI Defining Week
The fate of Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) will be clear before the end of the week, as a majority of county assemblies are expected to pass or reject the referendum bill between tomorrow and Friday.
All indications show that the BBI Bill could pass in at least 24 counties as required by the constitution.
The nine counties in the Mt Kenya will be debating the Bill on Tuesday and Wednesday after conducting successful public participation exercises last week.
As of Friday last week, 11 counties has said ‘Yes’ to the Constitutional Amendment Bill of 2020.
DP Ruto Says State House Bid Unstoppable
Deputy President William Ruto has maintained that no amount of harassment from the State will make him drop his presidential bid.
Dr Ruto claimed that the “deep state” had formulated evil schemes to frustrate him and his allies.
He made the remarks a day after alleging that there were plans to push him out government.

Why Was Caroline Wanjiku Killed?
The family of murdered businesswoman, Caroline Wanjiku, has asked detectives to dig deep into the brutal killing of their daughter.
Though a debt she owed a shylock has been linked to the murder that happened on 12th February, her sister Pauline Muthoni said there is more than meets the eye. Muthoni said the debt was “too small” to prompt such a beastly act.
The slain real estate investor, a mother of two, was trapped by someone who had promised to help her raise her shares at Stima Sacco. Her remains were later found in a thicket in Kajiado County.
At least four suspects have been apprehended.
Student Dies After Taking Sanitiser
A Form Four student at Kaputur Mixed Secondary School has died after drinking hand-bottle sanitiser.
Three of his friends, who he shared the drink with, have lost their sight. The four were in a mini-party.
Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha banned the use of portable hand sanitisers in schools last month. The CS noted that some students were using the sanitisers to start fires in their institutions.
Supremacy Battle at the Coast Rages
Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi are embroiled in a lordship battle over control of the Coast region.
Kingi has mounted a rigorous campaign against Joho, accusing of blocking Coastal unity.
He has been pushing leaders to bolt out of ODM, but Joho and his allies have remained adamant, insisting that they have invested a lot in the Raila Odinga-led party.
Mombasa Pupils to Start Learning AI, Robotics
Mombasa County has enrolled its Early Childhood Education (ECD) learners for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics classes.
The nursery school pupils will also learn coding.
Officials from the county government said 12 teachers have been trained in Singapore for the programme.
PNU Joins BBI Train
The Party of National Unity (PNU) has declared it support for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
National Chairman David Kamau said the outfit has launched mass education on the benefits of the BBI document to Mt Kenya dwellers.
Kamau noted that the meetings will also help the party revamp itself ahead of 2022 elections.
