Top 2020 KCPE exam candidate Faith Kawii Mumo is now assured of going through her four years of secondary school education without being bothered about fees. Mumo, who scored 433 out of 500 marks, was awarded a four-year scholarship by Matungulu MP Stephen Mutinda through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
The bright student, who is to set to join Kenya High School, was overwhelmed with tears after the godsend. She had risked missing her chance to join her dream school after her parents said they had no money. She promised to give back to society once she completes her four-year high school education.
Faith’s mother thanked the MP and urged him to assist other needy students. The Kari Mwailu Primary School alumna was issued with a dummy cheque for Ksh120,000 on Tuesday, 20th July.
The MP gave his assurance on the money being deposited into the school’s account. Mutinda also said he had set aside Ksh34 million for bursaries.
