Children are the most innocent humans in the world.

Today, President Uhuru Kenyatta hosted a function at State House in Nairobi to celebrate the arrival of FIFA World Cup trophy in Kenya.

As the ceremony was going on, a young boy walked in the presidential dais and squeezed himself next to the Head of State.

One would have expected that the boy wanted to tell President Kenyatta something. You are wrong.

He sat there and his eyes and attention were somewhere else.

The President even tried to prod him for a chat, but he was completely disinterested.

Amused, the President, his Aide-de-camp, State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena and other people in the dais had a good laugh, perhaps just wondering if the lad knew who was seated next to.

The President was handed the 18-caret trophy by former Brazilian midfielder, Juliano Belleti.

The cup landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) this morning and was received by Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed, her Tourism counterpart Najib Balala and Betty Maina of Trade.

It will be in Kenya for two days. The public will be allowed to view and take photos with it tomorrow at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC).

The trophy is on a world tour ahead of this year’s World Cup games in Qatar.
