President Uhuru Kenyatta vacates nationwide curfew

President Uhuru Kenyatta has ended the nighttime curfew.

The Head of State vacated the curfew with immediate effect, meaning the last day for it to be enforced was last night.

The President made the much-awaited announcement during the Mashujaa Day national celebrations at Wang’uru Stadium in Kirinyaga County.

The curfew has been place for more than one-and-a-half years and its vacation is a major relief for tons of small businesspeople, who will now do their activities day and night.

The Matatu industry will also reap big, as now they will resume night travels.

Several leaders led by Deputy President William Ruto and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi have been imploring the President to lift the curfew, arguing that it was escalating the already dire economic crisis.
