Mwingi East leaders have told off the Ukambani region politicians showing disrespect to Wiper Party boss Kalonzo Musyoka, reminding some of them that he has mentored them in politics.
Nguni Ward MCA Ngui Kilulu and some of his colleagues, speaking in Mwingi Town this morning, 20th June, said that Musyoka deserves respect, having served in various governments in high-level positions.
The local leaders denounced social media fights targeting the former Vice-President and aimed at damaging his reputation.
“We condemn such attacks in the strongest terms possible,” Kilulu said.
He denounced the greedy individuals who were only after fulfilling their own political desires and not developing the community.
The MCA said that a Wiper Party stab at the presidency would not be possible without a strong base on the ground in Ukambani.
Josephine Martha Nyolo, the treasurer of Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organisation in Mwingi Central, said the Wiper chief is a visionary national leader, who should not be dragged into petty political fights.
Former Nguni Chief David Kiteme, who is the chairman of Wiper Party in the area, said he has faith and confidence in Musyoka, and was convinced that the community would greatly benefit from the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
“Kalonzo is among the top six leaders in this country. He will be sharing the BBI cake, if all goes as planned. He deserves respect from all the Kamba community leaders.”
