English Premier League newcomers Watford have agreed a deal to sign Nigeria forward Emmanuel Dennis from Club Brugge.
In a statement issued on Monday night, 21st June, the Hornets said they had reached an agreement with Club Brugge for Dennis and were discussing personal terms with him.
“An agreement with Club Brugge has been reached for the transfer of exciting young forward, Emmanuel Dennis, Watford FC is delighted to confirm,” the club announced.
“The Hornets are currently finalising personal terms with the pacy striker – capped twice by Nigeria so far – who began his professional career with some experience as a teenager in the Ukranian Premier League with Zorya Luhansk.”
Dennis spent part of last season on loan in Germany’s Bundesliga with FC Koln, having first joined the Belgian top-flight side in the summer of 2017.
In over 90 club appearances for Club Brugge, Dennis scored 27 goals. He featured in both the Uefa Champions League and Uefa Europa League.
The 23-year-old will become the fourth Nigerian in the Watford squad after William Troost-Ekong, Tom Dele-Bashiru and Isaac Success.
The Hornets, who regained promotion to the EPL at the end of 2020/21, have already signed the likes of Imran Louza, Ashley Fletcher, and Danny Rose.
