Working Away From His Office, Suspended Governor Sonko Invites All to Enjoy Enhanced Services at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital

Embattled Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is still running his projects even though he is barred from accessing his office at City Hall.

Today, 28th January, through an Instagram post, he invited Kenyans and, especially those living on the outskirts of the city to enjoy enhanced medical services at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital in Embakasi West.

“In the last one year, we have dedicated a lot of energy to upgrading Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital in Embakasi West. We are almost done with the new wing that has an 86-bed capacity, the new TB Centre is up and running, a modern MRI centre is already in place as well. We also installed the Queue Management system at the facility to ease operations and finally, we have cancer screening machines at the hospital. Kindly visit Mama Lucy for such related services.”

Governor Sonko was barred from accessing his force in a ruling by Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti at the Milimani Law Courts, Nairobi, on 11th December so that he does not interfere with witnesses in his graft case, who happen to be subordinate staff in the county government.

However, the suspended governor says that despite his personal challenges, he will continue serving Kenyans, and especially Nairobi residents.

Seven days ago, Sonko heaved a sigh of relief after assault charges filed against him at the Voi Law Courts were withdrawn.

Sonko has gone through a series of tribulations since his dramatic arrest at Voi on 6th December last year, following an order by DPP Noordin Haji following alleged Ksh357 million procurement fraud.

He has since turned to God for help, regularly posting Bible sermons and prayers on his social media platforms.

This has attracted heated reactions from Kenyans, who have called him a hypocrite who only turned to God recently, after getting into trouble.
